Carr Head Primary

Our mission statement is to prepare the children of today to flourish in the world of tomorrow through nurturing mind, body and soul.

Pupil Premium 2015 - 16

In 2015-16 this funding was used in a variety of ways, including:

  • Providing enrichment opportunities;
  • Additional support staff and teacher led intervention groups for phonics, reading, writing and mathematics;
  • Nurture group (Friendship Room) support;
  • 1:1 counselling and play therapy sessions;

Examples of impact include:

  • Increased progress for identified pupils bringing their attainment in line with their peers; this has been particularly effective in phonics (Y1 and Y2);
  • Increased attendance and provided opportunities to access residential visits and extra curricular clubs;
  • Harmonious lunchtimes.

Carr Head will continue to use the Pupil Premium Grant in line with the school strategy to meet the needs of identified pupils in the coming year. In 2016 -17 the grant will be in the region of £62 000.
