Staff profiles


We are a committed team of staff who work together for the benefit of the pupils in our care. Support staff are deployed according to the needs of each cohort and the wider school family.  

Miss Karen Moore and Mrs Helen Thornley run the school office and will be the first people to meet and greet visitors.

Angeli Slack
Headteacher
Mrs Slack joined Carr Head in January 2014 having worked for Lancashire County Council since 1995. She can usually be found meeting and greeting parents and children at the beginning and end of the school day.
Diane Woodhouse
KS2 Leader / Year 4 class teacher
Mrs Woodhouse is the KS2 leader and teacher for Y4. She is responsible for leading mathematics across school and also oversees the running of the school council. Any spare time is often spent watching the mighty Fleetwood Town.
Peter Cartridge
Year 6 Class Teacher
Mr Cartridge joined Carr Head in 2010. He is responsible for leading English, PSHCE and Diversity across school. An avid Blackpool FC fan, 'Mr C' manages the school football team. He enjoys nothing more than eating a Chinese take-away and bonding time with his giant salcata tortoise!
Claudine Seed
PPA teacher (part time)
Mrs Seed teaches in Y2 and Oak.She works Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday. Mrs Seed loves thinking of creative ways to help the children learn and have fun at school. Mrs Seed coordinates Art and Design.
Charlotte Murphy
Reception class teacher
Miss Murphy loves working in Early Years and brings creativity to the classroom and outdoor areas. Enjoys all aspects of arts and crafts, Miss Murphy is responsible for leading RE across the school.
Vicki Holloway
SENCO / Y2 class teacher
Miss Holloway has worked at Carr Head for 8 years and has been the SENCO since 2012. She recently gained the National Award for SEN at Masters level with Edge Hill University and has received a Diploma in Autism. Miss Holloway also has responsibility for leading Design and Technology across the school. Personal interests include fitness and nutrition where she has also recently qualified as a fitness instructor.
Rebecca Eddisford
Year 1 Class teacher (Tues - Fri afternoons)
Kathryn Haines
Year 5 class teacher
Mrs Haines joined Carr Head in 2012 as a newly qualified teacher. She is the Year 5 class teacher and has responsibility for PE. Mrs Haines works closely with the local sports cluster and is responsible for organising the hugely successful Sports Days .
Denise Swarbrick
Year 3 class teacher
Mrs Swarbrick has worked at Carr Head as a member of support staff and began her teaching career as an NQT in 2017.
Karen Moore
School Bursar
Miss Moore joined Carr Head in September 2004 and has efficiently run the office ever since. Miss Moore has a friendly and approachable manner and will deal with all your queries with a smile!
Helen Thornley
Admin Assistant
Mrs Thornley supports Miss Moore in the school office every morning plus Monday and Friday afternoons. She takes the lead in managing attendance and dinner money.

Julie Cook
Lollipop Lady
Mrs Cook keeps our children and families safe as they cross Carr Head Lane at the beginning and end of the school day.
