About Carr Head
Carr Head is a friendly, welcoming school that sets high standards whilst maintaining the enjoyment of learning through good teaching. The school is housed in a spacious building surrounded by beautiful grounds, including a wild garden area and vast playing field. The infant classrooms all open to an enclosed outdoor space which is used to enrich learning. The Early Years classrooms share a large safety surface patio and forest school area which are used throughout the year to support learning through imaginative play.
Carr Head is organised into eight classes which ensures small class sizes in the Early Years and throughout KS1. From September 2016 the intake number will be 30 which will remove the need to have mixed age classes in KS1 from 2018. Each classroom benefits from an interactive whiteboard and there is access to mobile computing equipment for whole class teaching. Classrooms are equipped with Apple TV facilities which are used to enhance learning in the classroom; senior leaders, along with the governing body, are keen to further extend the ICT provision. The multi-purpose hall benefits from a state of the art projector which was provided by the PTFA using money raised at the summer fayre.
