P.E and Sports Premium Grant Reporting

The Primary P.E and Sport Premium is government funding provided by the Department for Education to improve the quality of Physical Education (P.E), physical activity and sport in primary schools.

At Carr Head Primary School, the funding is used to:
* Increase confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching P.E and sport.
* Increase engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity.
* Raise the profile of P.E and sport across the school.
* Offer a broader and more equal experience of a range of sports and activities.
* Increase participation in competitive sport.

For the academic year 2024 – 2025, the funding received at Carr Head Primary School was used for the following:
1. To improve the quality of P.E teaching through ongoing CPD, the purchase of high-quality P.E planning resources and an assessment system to track pupil progress.
2. To increase physical activity across the school day through providing active playground equipment and playground leaders, daily mile, and structured after-school club.
3. To broaden sporting opportunities by introducing new sports such as archery and yoga, inclusive sporting activities including wheelchair basketball and adaptions to the sports day format to ensure inclusivity. We also provide a range of extracurricular clubs free of charge.
4. Increase competitive sport and school games participation through the membership of the local school partnership and taking part in a range of competitive sporting activities.

At Carr Head Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that improvements are sustainable beyond the funding period.
